Over the weekend, Cardi B found herself at the center of mixed discourse after a video of her yelling at her production team mid-performance went viral.

If you missed it, Cardi performed at the BET Experience concert event in Los Angeles on Friday night.

Sadly, Cardi’s set was hindered by several production issues, which she drew attention to mid-performance.

In video footage circulating online, Cardi can be seen yelling on stage, “For production, y'all messing up my pyros, the fans is off, y’all messing up my music. Fuck am I paying y’all pussy niggas for? What am I paying y’all niggas for? Put my fucking fan on, bitch. Let’s go.”

The video immediately sparked a divide online. While several people branded Cardi “rude” and disrespectful for cursing at her team mid-performance, others argued that she was within her right to express her anger, given how many things had gone wrong.

“No need for all that that's [not] how you talk to your employees,” one comment on Instagram read. “So unprofessional to be calling them out like that during the show. Talk to them in private!! Diva mentality!!” said another.
“The production team need to do their JOBS. No one should have to correct you during the performance. I would have cussed their asses out, too. They are PAID to do their jobs correctly the first time. Not after I have to call you out. That's ridiculous,” someone else wrote.
Eventually, Cardi entered the conversation, defending herself against backlash as she responded to a tweet that said, “no one should ever be disrespected like this in a workplace.”

“don’t half ass my show because you comfortable when I definitely don’t half ass when it comes to paying,” she added.
Cardi later responded to another tweet, explaining exactly what went wrong during her performance.

“booked four fans so they could be turned on during Bartier Cardi and that never happened.. you wanna know why? Because they didn’t bother to show up to rehearsal while hundred thousands of dollars was put into this show. Don’t play with my money in this economy honey,” she added.
